If you are looking for a budget meal and one you can make in a few minutes under $10, this is it!!

Canned tuna around 198g or more...

Simple and very tasty meal, it can be served hot or cold.

Pretty much you can use what you have available in your fridge, any type of cheese, crushed crackers, bell pepper or a pepper of choice.
Onion of choice, sea, black pepper, onion powder, flour, butter and a few more ingredients.

Fry onion and red chopped pepper for a few minutes until soft.

Ingredients
- Canned Tuna - 1-198g can
- Noodles - 2 cups of choice
- Onion - 1 medium, peeled and chopped
- Shredded cheese - 1 cup of choice
- Butter or margarine - 2 tbsp
- All - purpose flour - 2 tbsp
- Milk - 1 cup
- Starch Water - 1 or 2 cups
- Sea salt - ½ tsp
- Black pepper - 1 tsp
- Onion powder - 1 tsp
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, any colour
- Crushed crackers - 1 cup
- Dill - ¼ tsp, or herb of choice
Instructions
Tuna Casserole
Recipe:
1 - 198g can Tuna 2 cups noodles, of choice
1 medium onion 1 cup shredded cheese
2 tbsp butter or margarine 2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk 1 cup noodle starch water
½ tsp sea salt ½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper 1 bell pepper, chopped
1 cup crushed crackers, of choice or salt & vinegar chips
¼ tsp dill or herb of choice
Method:
Open canned tuna and drain liquid, remove from can and mash or shred apart. Next in a saucepan half full of water with a ½ tsp sea salt in water, boil and add noodle of choice.
Cook noodles only until parboil it will continue cooking in oven.
Drain starch water leaving around one or two cups for sauce.
Then in a frying pan add butter let melt then, add your chopped onions cook for a few minutes then add the chopped bell peppers. Cook for a few minutes and add the flour mix around until it looks like a paste. Then slowly add starch water, milk, pepper, onion powder, dill or herb of choice, then top with ½ cup shredded cheese.
In a casserole dish or dish of choice, add noodles, tuna, sauce and fold together. Then top with the other ½ of the cheese. Top with crushed crackers or crushed salt & vinegar chips.
Preheat oven to 375ºf or 400ºF and bake the casserole for 30 minutes or until a nice golden brown. Remove from oven and serve with a toss salad, bread rolls and a nice cup of tea…
Bonita’s Tips:
Double the recipe to make more for leftovers or for more then four people.
Use your favourite shredded cheese and crackers. Most of us got extra crackers thats crushed in the bottom of that box.
Use two cans of tuna for more tuna in recipe, or replace with canned salmon, ham or even shrimp.
Budget friendly meal and very tasty.
Don’t add salt to the sauce because the canned tuna got salt in it…

Canned tuna is packed in salt and you don’t need to add salt to our recipe….only the noodles.

Marry all ingredients together to put in a casserole pan or pan of choice.


Bake in a 375 or 400ºF for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
